I know a lot of us make that statement about our careers but I can truly say it and mean it. I have been in the Real Estate Industry for over 22 years. My career began in Property Management and when I relocated to Western Oklahoma specifically Elk City I decided to move to the other side of Real Estate by helping people buy a new home or sell their home. I also assist with land and commercial real estate. I have also expanded into staging homes. I want my homes to look the very best and stand out above all others. You would be surprised that sometimes it really does not take much.

If your home does not sell it does not help either one of us. I put a lot into marketing and can honestly say I do more marketing than anyone else in Elk City. My business partner and I recently just received the Gensis Award from United Country for Outstanding Marketing. I started selling real estate in Western Oklahoma about many years ago in 1978 while teaching at Altus High School.  I have worked in all aspects of education from kindergarten to high school to vocational education, both as a teacher and an administrator.  I have been involved with schools in Western Oklahoma at Clinton, Altus, Sayre, and Erick, retiring in 2005.  I have been with United Country in Elk City for 16 years. Prior to this I sold real estate in Altus. I first worked as a sales associate and then I became a Real Estate Broker Associate in 1983.  I really enjoy keeping abreast of home and land sales in all of Western Oklahoma. KayLa's journey from her upbringing in Arnett, Oklahoma, to becoming a vital part of the team at United Country Exploration is marked by her passion for administrative work and her dedication to seamless operations. Raised in Oklahoma, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where her love for administrative-type duties became apparent.

Throughout her childhood, KayLa actively participated in showing animals and sports, showcasing her determination and competitive spirit. As she grew older, her affinity for administrative tasks led her to excel in these roles, making her an essential member of the team she works with now.

In 2009, KayLa's life took a turn when she met Justin, and they decided to move to Elk City, Oklahoma. They began building a life together, Justin already had a daughter, Asiah who became KayLa's sidekick instantly. As a mother, KayLa finds herself involved in various sports and school activities, keeping her busy and engaged with her daughter's life.

Apart from her family responsibilities, KayLa also actively participates in their local church, volunteering and working to support the community and contribute to the church's endeavors.

In February 2021, KayLa's career took another significant step as she joined the United Country Exploration team as the Altus office manager & transaction coordinator. Her primary responsibilities include promoting and marketing the Altus office listings and managing the day-to-day operations of the office. Additionally, she takes on the role of transaction coordinator for all their offices, demonstrating her ability to handle diverse responsibilities effectively.

Hello! My name is Melissa Brown, and I am excited to announce I have began my real estate journey by joining the team at United Country Exploration Realty. Needless to say, I am so excited!

I have actually lived in Western Oklahoma for the past 15 years. The towns I have called home include Carter, Burns Flat and Sayre. I eventually settled in Elk City about 8 years ago, and that is where I have raised my 3 children. Chase, my oldest, is a graduate of Elk City Public Schools and is currently attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University. My son, Aiden, is a graduate of Canute Public Schools and is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. Abigail is my youngest, and she is currently attending Elk City High School.

I have spent the last 20 years in dentistry, working as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Helping people comes naturally to me. Taking care of my patients through all stages of their lives has been such a joy to me. 

At this stage in my life I’m nearly an empty nester. I have enjoyed discovering several new passions, such as hiking and camping. I am up for just about anything that may prove to be an adventure. That’s where my new passion for real estate comes into the picture!

Shortly after I attended a Technical College (ASU Searcy) to receive my CNA/LPN certification/degree where I worked as an Hospice Home Care Nurse. Thomas and I have been happily married since 2002 and are proud parents to three wonderful children: Dominique, a graduate of Altus High School; Hayden, a prospective graduate of the Class of 2026 at Altus High School; and our youngest, Takoda.

Our family has had the privilege of living in various locations including Searcy, North Little Rock, and Jacksonville in Arkansas; Schmalenberg and Sembach in Germany; Point Mugu in California; and Altus and Mangum in Oklahoma.

In my leisure time, I relish exploring Southwest Oklahoma, hiking in Mountain Park, and the Lake Lugert area, engaging in outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping, cheering on my children at their sport(s) events, and indulging in retail therapy.

My husband, Thomas, was born in Alzey, Germany, and moved to North Carolina with his family in 1989. He joined the United States Air Force in 2000 as a German citizen and became a US citizen in 2004. After a commendable 22-year military career, Thomas transitioned into a civilian role as a Training Leader in the Vehicle Management flight where he continues to inspire his Airmen to reach their full potential.
